Why this chart?
This chart was designed for use in hospitals (neuro ward / ER), at home, in nursing homes, in rehab centers etc. Anywhere where communication with a person who is unable to talk, write or sign is wanted.
This chart was designed with quick navigation and communication with non-verbal people in mind.
The front of the chart is color coded, and once you’ve got the correct color area, you can narrow things down by row number.
The body images on the back also are divided into areas for quicker navigation.

Future versions and development
Depending on the response I get these are plans for the future:
- high contrast card for people with vision issues (for people in nursing homes – please make sure they have their glasses on)
- more charts (kids specific one, one for activities?)
- offer custom charts
- maybe even start writing an iPod app/iPhone app.
But the paper version will have priority – not everyone has an iPod or iPhone, and for people with vision issues a paper chart is more accessible. It’s also easier to store in a drawer and doesn’t rely on batteries.
You can print as many copies as you want to (the chart is free for non-commercial use).
